Gary Phillips is the acclaimed author of the kryptos.info network, a series of web sites exploring the art and science of information hiding.  He is recognized for his replica of the Kryptos Sculpture font and its precise alignment to the elusive Kryptos Copper Ribbon.  He demonstrates classical cryptography with a common-sense approach and detailed animated examples.  He is also professionally credited for discovering a steganographic message in a world-famous painting.

Phillips received an Associate of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science from North Central Michigan College in 1998.  He appeared in a cover story in the Wall Street Journal and garnered honorable mention in The Guardian, Wired Magazine, and dozens of other professional publications.  Michigan Technological University describes him as the "main mentor to a de facto Kryptos Anonymous 12-step group."  Phillips' work was also showcased in Nova Science Now and several educational and scientific web sites across the internet.

Gary is pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a keen interest in cryptographic mathematics as an undergraduate at Michigan Technological University.  A member of the Dean's List, he is employed as an IT Developer with a global leader in the automotive industry and intends to pursue a Doctorate degree with a continued focus on technical communication.  He demonstrates the art of Perception Without Awareness and is viewed by his peers as one who "skillfully portrays the subtle sciences of illusion."  He welcomes and enjoys regular correspondence from both professionals and amateurs alike.
